Tell me there's a heaven
Where all those people go
Tell me that they're happy now
Papa tell me that it's so.
Chris Rea - 'Tell Me There's A Heaven'
It's Hallowe'en. When I was younger, I'd dress up in a silly costume and go out demanding delectable yummies. Now, I sit at home with the light off (Dad's idea, not mine) in front of the PC (burning my eyes out, may I add), thinking about somebody I lost. They say that Hallowe'en is the day when the mortal world and the spirit world are closest; I'm not sure I believe it, but I want to, just like I want to believe there's an afterlife and I'll see everybody there.
It's been three years since he died. I'm past the grieving stage, but every year, on Hallowe'en, I still remember him. I suppose I want to believe in an afterlife because I miss him, and because I don't want to think this lfie is the end. The scientist in me says there's no such thing as heaven or hell, and there is no afterlife, but just because I think that way doesn't mean it's not there, right?
The irony is that the man I'm remembering was a devout atheist.
Oh, and that creature up there is Shinju, my latest (And hopefully final) fursona. She's a kai-ken (I know, I know, I like Ginga, okay? Leamme 'lone.), and her name means 'earl' in Japanese (My own name, Meg, also means pearl). Oh, and the only reason she has a Japanese name is because the breed is Japanese. Not because I'm some Wapanese freak.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

It'll be all right in the end. If it's not all right, it's not the end.
