I believe the best way to describe my feelings about uploading this is through a short-ish reconstruction of the conversation that I had with myself.

Me: Okay, so I’ve drawn a wolf-Sephiroth. I’m really damn proud of it. However… it’s a wolf-Sephiroth.
Reason: And what’s wrong with that?
Emotion: What do you think is wrong? It’s fanart! Of an immensely popular character! From an immensely popular game! As a wolf! There’ll be people flaming you in minutes of you uploading this!
Reason: Okay, I think you’re overreacting –
Emotion: Shut up! Besides, you already have two pieces of fanart in your gallery! Two! And this’ll just lead to even more fanart! Then you’ll get flamed even more!
Reason: Calm down, woman.
Emotion: No! You’re on a slippery slope, Eve! Next thing you know, your gallery will be full to the brim with fanart! And then what will you do? Huh?
Reason: -sigh-

Ahem.

This is what happens when you let your muse go out of control. It is normally immensely embarrassing, yet also immensely good. Dammit.

Why does my most awesome piece to date have to be fanart?! There are so many of my own characters I could have drawn! Shinju! Svetlana! Phasmatis! Hell, I could even have dug up Sophia! But nooooooo, I have to go and draw Sephiroth of all characters. As a wolf, no less. Don’t get me wrong, I love FFVII (hence why I drew this), but it’s so over-fanarted (especially Mr Not-Compensating-for-Anything up there).

Ordinarily I wouldn’t have uploaded this. Every part of me says I shouldn’t have uploaded it. But dammit, I think it’s awesome, and I want to share that awesomeness. If you don’t want this to be fanart, pretend it’s a generic silver wolf with glowy eyes and a thick mane that is not at all meant to represent vast swathes of very girly hair.

No, I don’t know why he has a mottled tongue. I really just felt like it. Also, dogs with mottled tongues are awesome. I’m using the word ‘awesome’ too much. Somebody stop me. In fact, somebody stop the fanart monster that appears to have taken over my brain.

In case you hadn’t already guessed, I am really, really proud of this. Mostly the shading, but I’m pleased with the face as well. That left (our right) foreleg is a bit dodgy, but oh well. In fact, the back left (again, our right) is dodged up too. Feh.

I will give you a proper background one day, when I can be bothered to get off my arse and learn how to paint them.

My next piece, whenever it arrives, will be original! I swear! I feel like I should go and flagellate now.
